As an International Programs Advisor, Matt assists students with identifying and preparing for study abroad opportunities in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.  Matt also organizes re-entry activities for study abroad participants and coordinates the IPE Alumni Network.  He is committed to empowering students who have completed an international experience to better articulate and integrate the skills and knowledge gained while abroad into all facets of life upon return from these impactful experiences. 

Matt earned his B.A. in Religious Studies from Albion College in 2006 and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership (Higher Education Student Affairs) from Eastern Michigan University in 2015.  Prior to joining the International Programs in Engineering team, Matt worked for the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan as the Alumni & Student Enrichment Assistant.  He has also held various roles within the field of international education, working for a third-party study abroad program provider in Denver, Colorado and for Academic Programs Abroad at Eastern Michigan University.  His professional, academic and personal interests have led him to travel extensively throughout the world to more than 45 countries.  He is an avid Olympics spectator and has had the privilege to attend the Olympic Games of Barcelona ’92, Lillehammer ’94, Atlanta ’96, Nagano ’98, Salt Lake City ’02, Torino ’06, Vancouver ’10 and London ’12.
