Welcome to College of Engineering! At IPE our goal is to help ALL Engineering students go abroad during their time at U-M:
Did you know…
-
- You can go abroad starting the summer after your first year
- 1 in 4 Engineering students will have an international experience during their time at UM
- Students can take all levels of technical engineering courses abroad that transfer back to U-M credit
1
Understand your degree requirements
Review your degree audit to see what courses you will need to take in order to graduate
If you have not officially declared a major yet, work with your EAC advisor to run a ‘what-if report’ to see the degree requirements for majors you are considering.
2
Review our programs, designed specifically for Michigan Engineers
- Search by country or term
- Click into a program to view the M-Compass brochure, that’s where you’ll find more detailed information like housing, academics, lead advisor etc.
- Make note of course offerings for each program to relay to your academic advisor (see next step)
3
Connect with your academic advisor
Let your academic advisor know you’re interested in going abroad. Show them the courses you would like to take abroad and discuss whether or not those courses can apply to your degree requirements
